[Bug 571980] [NEW] crash on boot with kernal 2.6.32-21

Public bug reported:

when booting my acer travelmate 2300, shortly after the boot splash is
displayed (<1s), the screen goes black and the machine is locked up. alt
+ SysRq commands don't even work, although I can eject the cd drive.
This bug was not present in kernel 2.6.32-20.
