Tony, sure...I believe them.  I was simply saying the performance sucks
for me on 2.28 and 2.30...on a Thinkpad X301!  So I can only imagine how
much worse it is on a low horsepower machine.  I wonder if this has
anything to do with writing to an ext4 filesystem, as it only occurs
when you start recording.  It's either the filesystem, or how cheese is
using v4l2.
