This bug affects me also.  BTW, I do *not* get a hang when I install Linux Mint Isadora, which is supposed to be similar to Lucid.
The strange aspect of this bug is that in almost 20% of reboots, it does not hang... 
Also noticed that if I power off the computer and then boot, the chances of hanging is lower.
Hopefully, there will be a solution/workaround... till then, I have to use Mint.
