Public bug reported:

I got two kernel oops in a period of 30 minutes.
The first one happened after I updated 10.10 and wanted to restart to complete the update process. Nothing happened, the system froze. I had to do a cold start.
The second one happened after I started Ubuntu back up, got idle and after wanting to enter the password at the screen-saver screen another freeze.
FYI this is happening on a Asus Eee PC 1005 HA PU17 with Ubuntu Netbook Edition.
