Public bug reported:
Sorry about the vague description, I'm not really sure what the cause of
this regression is. I might as well be affected by multiple issues, but
I'm reporting those as one for now, since they might be related. Please
rename/move when inappropriate.
I updated from 2.6.35-17 to -18 yesterday, and to -19 today. I'm seeing at least 3 problems with the latter two that didn't exist on -17:
- kernel complains when loading OSS4 modules (build via package oss4-dkms) with "BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request"
- I don't get any login on the virtual consoles 1 - 6 (with KMS on r600 using ppa:xorg-edgers)
- Ran into one shutdown problem with -18, doesn't happen everytime. Box didn't shutdown via ACPI, got "irq 18: nobody cared" (heh)
Attached the dmesg output of all 3 kernels, and one photo from the
messages of the shutdown problem (notice the "Will now halt" on top).
** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
