Added Information:
I downloaded the new updates through update manager and install them.
After installing, I uninstalled the broadcom drivers and reinstalled.
The software recognized the wireless modem and I was able to stay
connected. I then shut down the system and rebooted. The driver DID
NOT find the wireless device and would not work. I then removed both
of the these packages, "bcmwl-kernel-source" and "bcmwl-modaliases"
from my system via synaptic package manager. Also removed the hardware
drive and the network connection from my system then rebooted. Then I
reinstalled the packages, rebooting in between installs and reloaded the
hardware driver and reset the network conneciton. After I install the
driver my system would see the wireless and it would work until I shut
off my computer and rebooted. Then I loose the wireless function again.
Is there a solution to this problem? I really need my wireless to work
because I am not in a wired area all the time and I use my laptop a lot.
Thanks,
ken
