Ubuntu lucid alpha 3 64-bit:
boot, first option, kernel panic,

boot, F6, change quiet splash to acpi=off noapic pnpbios=off, flickering
rapidly between white text and a "green" screen for 5 sec, loading
curser on black screen, desktop.

64-bit fails on boot, workaround still works.

next: kubuntu 32 bit.
