Public bug reported:
Attempting to run linux-image-2.6.32-23-generic (from lucid proposed)
causes a kernel panic after boot on both an IBM System x3650 M2 and
System x3250 M3. This is repeatable at every boot.
I performed a fresh install of 10.04 LTS and installed linux-
image-2.6.32-23-generic. The system works perfectly with the kernel
shipped in 10.04 LTS, but after booting with the proposed update I get:
Kernel panic - not syncing: stack-protector: Kernel stack is corrupted
in: f8370ee0
No trace was visible on-screen. (See screenshot.)
Please let me know if there is additional information I can provide.
This system is in a Canonical testing lab so it can be wiped and tested
as needed.
