[Bug 604098] [NEW] Notify-OSD and brightness applet do not report backlight level after resume-from-suspend

Public bug reported:

When resuming-from-suspend and changing the brightness level via the
keyboard hotkeys, Notify-OSD does not report the brightness level ;
instead, it reacts like the brightness is at minimum level and I'm still
lowering it, which obviously I'm not. The brightness applet does not
work either ; moving the slider does no effect at all.

This is an HP Pavillon dv6700 computer running a 10.10 install.
