I'm having a (related?) issue with both the UNE and regular versions of
10.04 (kernels 2.6.32-21-generic and 2.6.32.23-generic) on my Sony Vaio
"Signature" P Series (VPCP118KX) UMPC. Basically, the built-in "stick
pointer" and mini-trackpad are not recognized. I'm not sure if they're
being mis-identified as PS/2 Generic or just...not being identified at
all.

'xinput list' command shows only the "virtual core XTEST pointer" and
the "Macintosh mouse button emulation."

'dmesg | grep PS/2' shows...
"""
PNP: PS/2 Controller [PNP0303.PS2K] at 0x60,0x64 irq 1
PNP: PS/2 appears to have AUX port disabled, if this is incorrect please boot with i8042.nopnp
mice: PS/2 mouse device common for all mice
"""
Any workaround suggestions? Can I manually associate that hardware with whatever driver is supposed to drive "Alps" hardware?
