[Bug 606000] [NEW] pl2303 USB serial: transmit doesn't work

On x86_64 Lucid, my pl2303-based serial device can receive data
properly, but transmits are a noop.  I can type into minicom or cu,
cat directly to /dev/ttyUSB0, etc...  Nothing is received on the other
side of the connection.  This has been tested on two different 10.04
laptops, and two different manufacturer's pl2303 devices.

Moving the same hardware and cable directly to an adjacent i686 Ubuntu
9.10 box works perfectly.
