[Bug 570484] [NEW] System hangs at laptop lid reopening

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

After closing my Dell Inspiron 6000, the system hangs or something.
Whether asleep or hibernating, when reopened it only shows a flashing
command prompt-like line at the top left of the screen, though no
keyboard input is displayed. The only way to get around this problem is
to restart the computer.
