A 1 minute log was generated using the following commands...

sudo -i
echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/block_dump # Start logging
# Wait 1 minute
echo 0 > /proc/sys/vm/block_dump # Stop logging
exit

Results from /var/log/kern.log are attached.  Noise/write occurs at jbd2 entries e.g....
