Hi Aleksander,

Did you enable synaptic support in the kernel?
Do you have synaptic packages installed?
Can you report the result of?
# dmesg | grep 8042

As well, i forget to post that one shall be able to change those nomux,
and noloop parameters for the driver i8042 by passing to the kernel the
parameter 'i8042.nomux=1' and/or 'i8042.noloop=1' in grub/lilo.
