[Bug 610126] [NEW] Booting up lucid machine doesn't always work the first time

Public bug reported:

This is only an issue since Lucid was stable. On booting up, it seems
to stop booting up just after Grub flashes on screen and hangs there
displaying "- " and never moves. I end up repeating this 4-5 times in
order to get a successful boot.

On booting up finally, sometimes some of the top panel is mixed up.
Either my me menu appears twice, or the power button is missing,
sometimes the wifi will not connect and I need to right click and enable
wireless but it never works. http://pix.ie/czajkowski/1778021/size/0
