Public bug reported:

When I boot either the mainstream kernel 2.6.35-020635rc3-generic, or
the current Maverick kernel (2.6.35-5-generic) the boot goes OK until
the various fsck's are fired. From this point on I get so many kernel
OOPSes that it is impossible to take a snapshot; system also becomes
unresponsive, even to the magic keys, and I have to power-cycle it.
*Maybe* these OOPSes attached here are related -- I do not know (I was
able to boot into the 2.6.35-5 kernel in recovery mode, but started
getting the OOPSes -- four of them -- when I logged in, still in the
command-line; after a while the system become unresponsive again, and I
had to power-cycle).

When I boot 2.6.35-4-generic I see no errors.

It is worth noting that I was able to boot the same above-mentioned
mainstream kernel until I installed 2.6.35-5.
