This problem certainly shows up on google searches. I upgraded from 8.10
and still have the old kernel there. If I boot using the old kernel
2.6.27-14, then sound works. Using 2.6.28-11 everything looks like it is
working. Sound monitor shows bars that look like sound is being plyed,
but no sound is coming out of anything.
