Binary package hint: pulseaudio
I recently upgraded to Karmic Beta. Now my sound won't work properly
anymore. In Jaunty, it used to work perfectly, now I often get such a
buzzing sound from my speakers. I think this is because the speakers
don't get any signal. When I turn on my speakers and the computer is
turned off, I get the same noise. But in Jaunty, this noise dissapeared
a few seconds after the grub menu.
But this isn't my only problem with sound in Karmic. With kernel 2.6.28,
the sound won't work at all, but in 2.6.31 (which I'm using now), I can
play some songs with Totem, although the music profile always seems to
change. I only get by default sound from 2 of my 5.1 speakers. Then by
chosing 'Analog Surround 5.1 Output' as profile, all my speakers work.
The problem is that everytime I reopen Totem, I have to change the
profile again.
Could it be possible to have my sound back in kernel 2.6.28, which has
better support for my wireless card? I would really like to get rid of
this buzzing noise, just like it was in Jaunty.
Here is the output of some commands:
