[Bug 536929] [NEW] VirtualBox Guest Additions stopped working with the 2.6.32-16 kernel

Public bug reported:

I'm running Lucid Alpha 3 fully updated inside a VirtualBox in Karmic,
also fully updated. After a recent kernel upgrade from 2.6.32-15 to
2.6.32-16, the Guest Additions stopped working, as in X does not
properly start anymore and goes to low-resolution mode.

To confirm the issue, I reinstalled a fresh daily build of Lucid: X
stopped working after I installed the guest additions. Until then I was
using VirtualBox OSE from the Karmic repositories. Switched to
VirtualBox from Sun's site and got the issue again. Finally, I
downgraded to 2.6.32-15 and the issue was gone in all cases.
