[Bug 537396] Re: events/0 spikes CPU every 3 seconds since upgrade to 2.6.31-20

On further exploration, this seems to be related to the LAN card which
is also no longer functioning.

``ifconfig eth0 down`` stops the CPU spikes.

As indicated in the above attachments, my LAN card is:
