Public bug reported:
VLC will run, but it will only work in two settings (that I can switch
between):
1. In full screen mode, which seems to work as normal with the controls
disappearing when not in use and,
2. In what I will call "over-maximized mode", where I cannot see either
of my above and below panels (where I launch programs, etc.) or the top
of VLC, only the toolbar with "File, Edit, etc."
If I go to full screen and then go to "over-maximized," I can view the
bottem panel where I can close the VLC player. I tried uninstalling
VLC, but that did nothing. I deleted the files from /usr/bin, and now I
get an error message that reads "Could not launch 'VLC media player'".
Is there a way to do a clean restart, because using the Ubuntu Software
Center did nothing, as well as doing: sudo apt-get install vlc-nox
Any ideas? Thanks!
