This USB stick (Kingston DTI/512, 512 mb) was read and recognized
automaticallly some time ago. I used a 4 port USB hub to extend the
ports in my notebook and tested it with the USB stick. After that the
USB stick is not recognized when put at the notebooks ports but it is
recognized and read when put on the USB hub, but I cannot use this hub
(not mine) and need to use the stick on the standard USB ports of the
notebook. A couple of days ago I put another USB stick (Kingston, 1 Gb)
which is normally recognized and read, then expulsed this stick and put
the 512 Mb in the same port. The stick was recognized and read and I
worked normally, but this never happened again. This 512 mb stick is
recognized normally when inserted in Windows 7 in the same notebook,
also when inserted in another PC with OpenSUSE, or when inserted in all
other PCs I use it. My notebook has Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala installed
in a external USB hard disk and it boots from there while Windows 7 is
the first operating system with which this notebook came.
