I had another thought....  You could also D/L Ubuntu 10.04, burn to USB,
enable third party repo's, install hardinfo, benchmark and see what
results you get that way.  When you create your "live" space for
storage, increase the default 128 MB to 512 or so.  Otherwise the you
won't have enough space in your persistent file to d/l the app cache and
hardinfo.  This method will allow you to temporarily see if the 2.6.32
kernel will activate your Turbo Boost without modifying your system at
all.
