[Bug 544863] [NEW] CPU fan never switches off on Acer Aspire 5920g

Public bug reported:

whenever I power up my notebook, either on network or battery power,
once the fan switches on, it never stops.

tried on Ubuntu 9.10 and Linux Mint 8 (which are basically the same on
this side, I know) with latest packages.

laptop-tools are installed, but this happened even when they weren't.

if there is any other details I can provide, please tell me how to do it
(where to find ACPI related logs, for example)
