Mint's kernel 2.6.31.x seems to be missing the driver for this WiFi
chipset. The driver is available from
http://www.ralinktech.com/ralink/Home/Support/Linux.html

modprobe rt3090sta

makes the WiFi work excellently. No stability issues seen.

Can Mint add this driver without waiting for kernel upstream to do so?
