[Bug 544952] [NEW] Cannot read from DVD drive

In 2.6.32-16-generic, I got a lot of IO errors when trying to read a dvd
(it seemed to mount fine). When the same dvd was read in
2.6.31-20-generic, the disc seemed fine.

dmesg starts showing the problem as follows:
