[Bug 545853] [NEW] [iwl3945] Wifi connects at 1Mbps

Public bug reported:

I'm currently testing a Lucid i386 install side-by-side with my primary
Karmic amd64 working environment with the ubuntu-desktop.

I've found when the wireless network (802.11g 54Mbps WPA2 PSK) connects
it stays at 1Mbps for some time before switching to 54Mbps. Previously
(Karmic, Jaunty, Hardy, etc.) the connection was immediately running at
54Mbps. The WAP is about 3 meters away and there are no other devices
within range operating on these frequencies (on a farm here).

Sometimes the link shifts speed to 54Mbps pretty quickly (couple of
minutes) but at others it stays at 1Mbps for 10 minutes or more. I want
to stress that this behaviour isn't seen with previous releases.
