I'm also having issues with this.  The current (Lucid Beta 1) Megaraid
SAS driver doesn't support newer controllers like the 9240-8i.  The
current driver version is 4.17 per the LSI website
(http://www.lsi.com/channel/products/megaraid/sassata/9240-8i/index.html).
This needs to be updated to provide access to this type of hardware,
especially for the LTS version.
