I just performed the same upgrade to kernel 2.6.31.20-generic and my
hplj-1020 stopped working as described by merrifie.  I ran the 'apport-
collect -p linux 382045' command as requested by Jeremy.  Hopefully the
uploaded data will help expedite a fix.
