[Bug 546731] [NEW] kernel hang: gconfd-2

Public bug reported:

The system becomes almost nonresponsive (the mouse continues to move,
and *very* slow X responses, i.e. a window opens overnight).   I could
not ssh into the affected computer.

The following error messages appear in /var/log/syslog:
