Confirmed on uptodate lucid system.

$ uname -r
2.6.32-16-generic

card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: STAC92xx Analog [STAC92xx Analog]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

The message comes reproducibly every time Skype sounds a chat message
notfication. The notification sound stutters, though listening to music
works ok.

This is a regression from Karmic, where I never had this issue.
