[Bug 546832] [NEW] Boot freezes when using external monitor and nouveau driver

Public bug reported:

Booting with an external monitor connected with my Dell Latitude 820
laptop fails when using the nouveau drivers. The boot procedure freezes
while showing the splash screen.

Removing the external cable and rebooting fixes the problem. After
booting the external monitor works like a charm.

Steps to reproduce:
* Remove the official nvidia drivers if installed (the kernel should select automatically the nouveau drivers during next boot)
* Connect an external monitor
* Reboot
* Boot freezes
