[Bug 489878] Re: Mic level in alsamixer is not reflecting actual input level

Please tell me what does it require to get this bug report out of
triaged.

With latest linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic pacakge there
ist no change:

* Mute internal mic does not work
* Setting gain level to mic does not work

However it might be interessting that (at least in KDE) the Pulseaudio
backend fails to handel the device, instead I see a HDA Nvidia CONEXANT
Analog device.

Please keept in mind, that this device has a Hermosa chipset, which I reported here

has issues. The report is about the Venice chipset, but Hermosa is
definitely affected too!
