I could easily configure the Huawei E620 usb modem to work in 9.04, but
cannot get it to work in either 9.10 or 10.04 Beta 1. It persistently
mounts as a 'read-only' storage device, however, lsusb lists it as a
E620 modem. I don't know whether it is a kernel issue re usb
devices/configuration or whether it is network manager causing the
problem. Looks as though I will have to downgrade to 9.04 to get mobile
broadband on my laptop. By the way this is on a 32 bit system - haven't
tried a 64 bit. Both 9.10 and 10.04 Beta 1 had the latest updates
available installed. Mention has been made that this issue was fixed in
9.10 and one would have no problems connecting as long as the latest
updates had been installed. At least on my computer (Compaq Presario
C700 - intel 2.13 Ghz cpu ; gm965 gpu ; 2gb ram), this is not the case.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
