Thank you, Chris, for the notificatin.

I'm not sure at this moment but I think ooo could not be installed after 
I updated the kernel to 2.6.31-19.

After that, I have Re-installed Ububtu 9.10(from a CD of Last Nov) onto 
USB Mem. using Portable VirtualBox Starter for VBox Ver.3.12, and 
continuing updates for Ubuntu - currently kernel is 2.6.31-20  -, and it 
is working fine, including ooo.

As I am just a novice for Ubuntu and almost no knowledge on it, I wonder 
if I can help you much, but I really appreciate your efforts and thank 
you a lot.
