Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.28
I have installed Ubuntu 9.04, kernel 2.6.28-11-generic on my PC and it
worked fine a few days. After that, one day at boot, I encountered this
following error message :
[ 126.271648] powernow-k8: BIOS error - no PSB or ACPI _PSS objects
Loading, please wait...
Gave up waiting for root device. Common problems:
- Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
- Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?)
- Check root= (did the system wait for the right device?)
- Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
ALERT! /dev/disk/by-uuid/fe181c9c-b742-4ff3-bd42-d1aa06faedbb does not exist. Dropping to a shell!
BusyBox v1.10.2 (Ubuntu 1:1.10.2-2ubuntu7) built-in shell (ash)

I tried to edit grub and changed to "rootdelay=120", and also add "all_generic_ide", but none of those changes worked.
Perhaps, is it about a damaged partition that causes this failure :
1) When I launch GParted from a live CD, I get "The device /dev/sda1
does not exist" + "The device /dev/sda5 does not exist" + "dumpe2fs : No
such file or directory while trying to open /dev/sda6" + "dumpe2fs : No
such file or directory while trying to open /dev/sda7"
2) If I type fsck /dev/sda7 (the root partition), I get the following
error message : "The superbloc could not be read..."
3) And when I type fdisk -l, the system replies : "That doesn't seem to
be / look like a partition table..."
Any help is welcome...
Thenks in advance !
