1.KK,i386,32bit,updated this morning.
2.NA
3.For the sound to work,as it has, perfectly, since the day I installed
this fine operating system months ago.
4.I booted Saturday morning, got the normal speaker pop,but did not get
the drum sound after entering my password.
--I rebooted,same result. Then,checked VLC,a compact disk,an FM
stream, and the audio portion of a UTube video, getting the same result
each time,no sound.
--I checked the connections, the seating of the sound card, the bios
setting, all the connections inside the case, and everything seems good.
Again, when I boot on,I get a mild pop through my speakers but no drum
beat after entering the password.
--My sound card is recognized, but I get <access denied> But it shows the
driver, and that it is recognized. The same sound card is listed four
times. I did a mod probe and could not find the driver in the
alphabetical list. The driver is ca0106. I purged the alsa
data,reinstalled it,reinstalled the gnome desktop,and still,no sound.
--I asked for help on the Ubuntu forum.
Being new at this,I was not sure which "package" this was.
Thank you.
