Public bug reported:
The network (including internet) is not accessible after a full boot with automatic login. Ubuntu Lucid (x.x.21) was installed from USB stick / live CD.
I have the same behaviour when booting Ubuntu Lucid Live CD. Ubuntu Karmic on the same machine does not have this problem (i have a dual boot system now). When I boot into recovery mode as root I have network as I was able to run 'apt-get update' and file a bug with 'apport-cli -f -p linux' although I don't know if the required information is in the report. The remainder of this report was filled from an other machine.
DHCP gives a valid IP to the machine at boot.
Other problems occur with USB mouse not responding or Live CD not booting at all, I can not say this is related as it occurs irregularly.
