This wireless usb interface used to work under Karmic by blacklisting
various drivers:

/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
----------
.
.
.
blacklist rt2x00usb
blacklist rt2x00lib
blacklist rt2800usb
----------

This no longer seems to work.

The network is correctly detected but it does not accept the WPA
password entered, and continually spins until re-prompting to enter the
password.

I tried this:

http://swiss.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=8893675

Basically downloading and installing the drivers from Ralink. But I got
the same result.

some information that might be useful.
