If, by the latest development, you mean 10.04, I could try, if it would help, but have been waiting for the end product to be released, with the idea
that I'd try to install again from scratch.

If, by latest, you mean linux-image-2.6.34-999-generic_2.6.34-999.201004281008_amd64, my attempt to install that yielded the message:
"dpkg: regarding .../linux-image-2.6.34-999-generic_2.6.34-999.201004281008_amd64.deb containing linux-image-2.6.34-999-generic:
linux-image-2.6.34-999-generic breaks lvm2 (<< 2.02.54-1ubuntu3)
lvm2 (version 2.02.39-Oubuntu9) is present and installed.
etc.
etc.
etc.
etc.
etc.
I was more successful with linux-image-2.6.28-02062810-generic_2.6.28-02062810_amd64, which is mapped as the closest mainline kernel to my Ubuntu
release. When I booted it, however, I found that I'd lost the use of my mouse. I managed to use my keyboard to attempt the upgrade again, but with
the same result as the Ubuntu kernel. I hope that answers your question(s).

I'm hoping to install Lucid Lynx from a clean start soon, so please let me know quickly if you'd like me to try anything else. Otherwise, I'll do my
best to remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag.
