That's close. Actually, until a *correct* driver is written, Ubuntu will
continue to try to load the old drivers, but the ACPI subsystem will
prevent them from loading properly. This is why you see the error
message. The driver goes refused by ACPI and then emits the message. And
yes, that means you won't have full monitoring capabilities for your
motherboard.

There is an option to explicitly override the ACPI subsystem so the old
drivers will work again, but it's potentially dangerous. I talked more
about that option in the other bug.

Please note that I will be out at the Ubuntu Developer Summit all next
week, so it may be a while before I get back to this bug. However, rest
assured that it is on my task list for when I'm back and have time.
