[Bug 518002] Re: lucid extensa 5635z backlight dimming not working at all

have exactly the same problem on my HP 6830s: before in 9.10 the backlight controls
(fn-f7 / fn-f8) functioned properly - after upgrading to 10.04 not anymore

have no clue where to look

although the backlight went to fully bright after running the command
"gnome-power-manager"
