This bug seems to have regressed into Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on
2.6.32-22-generic.
Suspend is not working from the gnome Suspend menu option. I also tried
the /etc/acpi/sleep.sh script from the command line. In either case,
the screen fades to black, but the LCD backlight continues to stay on,
the WiFi light stays on, and the disk light turns on occasionally. I
can use Ctrl-Alt-F1 thru F6 to get to the console login prompt. I can
also use Ctrl-Alt-F7 to return to gnome, although it sometimes will ask
for my password.
On 9.10, the Suspend function worked correctly.
My laptop is a Dell Latitude D610 with Intel 915GM/PM/GMS/910GML
graphics.
I rebooted the same laptop on 2.6.31-20-generic, and Suspend seems to be
working correctly on that kernel. However, on that kernel I'm getting
an error message about the RAM drive, which I haven't observed on
2.6.32-22.
