I have experienced similar problem. Keyboard works @ boot after "standard" Logitech activation using switches on kbd and dongle. 
Once logged in using another PS2 kbd all attempts to register / connect has failed, it gives message successful but the line for the kbd never gets "bold" indicating connection.

The keyboard worked once in another machine running 10.4 over the built
in BT (not the dongle). Now BT stopped working in the second system
aswell.

The kbd works fine in original system under Windows Vista. (and under
9.10 before upgrading)
