I also tried 2.6.32-22 and that shows the same issue as 2.6.32-21.
 2.6.32-20-generic continues to work for me.

I was unable to get the GRUB_DEFAULT=saved // GRUB_SAVEDEFAULT=true to work
for me though.  I did the update-grub and I've tried rebooting several
times.  Is there a way to check what grub thinks it should boot next is?
where is the GRUB_DEFAULT saved?
