HP EliteBook 8730w (Radeon Mobility HD 3670).  I use radeon video driver
on release version of Lucid.

The behaviour is the same as described by Hendrik in comment 22.

I tried echoing to /proc/acpi/video/DGFX/LCD/brightness: brightness is
changed.
