Public bug reported:

When I have the power supply connected to my MacBook 4,1, the System
Monitor reports that both CPU's are maxed out at 100%. The system heats
up drastically and the fan runs non-stop. When I disconnect the power
supply, the CPU's drop to a normal level, the system cools down, and the
fan slows down. This problems occurs consistently.

I installed applesmc-dkms after reading about Bug #262550
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/262550).  This did
not affect the problem, but I thought I should mention it since it is an
addition to the standard release that might affect trouble shooting.

Description:	Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release:	10.04

I also tried:
$ apt-cache policy packagename
W: Unable to locate package packagename
Is it "synaptic 0.63.1"?
