thanks. actually I just wanted to report that the ethernet port wouldn't
connect after a resume

but even this way, it actually won't reconnect automatically, but I have
to manually tell it to, via the network manager UI widget. maybe a
network manager restart would help?

also, is there a way to make the suspend process not dim the screen?
