Ok, i figured that the clickpad mode does not get initialized for my
touchpad.

If you take a look at http://kernel.ubuntu.com/git?p=ubuntu/ubuntu-maverick.git;a=blob;f=drivers/input/mouse/synaptics.c;h=b76374c80989df1eba6e98c93b5f3dbabd8014ae;hb=HEAD in synaptics_init() at line 773 i should be seeing clickpad enabled in dmesg but this is what i get:
$ dmesg | grep -i synaptics
