Make sure you have the the new package installed by typing 
sudo apt-cache policy gnome-screensaver
in a terminal window.
It should say:
gnome-screensaver:
  Installed: 2.30.0-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 2.30.0-0ubuntu2
